Congratulations on earning a spot to play in the 124th U.S. Amateur Championship.  The USGA, Hazeltine National Golf Club and Chaska Town Course look forward to your arrival and hope that you will have a wonderful week in the Twin Cities area and a memorable championship experience.

As you prepare for the championship please be mindful of the following championship items that we wanted to bring to your attention in advance of your arrival on-site.

PACE OF PLAY - The USGA would like to encourage all players to become familiar with the USGA Group Pace of Play Policy that we will use during the stroke play portion of the championship. Your support in having a positive impact on pace of play is a must in order to ensure that 312 players get around the golf course in a timely fashion.  With that being said, please be sure to review the Pace of Play Policy along with the supplemental infographics that have been posted under the Pace of Play tab.  Your knowledge of this policy and how it works could be the difference maker on whether you make match play or not.  Don’t hesitate to seek out a USGA staff member if you have any questions about how our Pace of Play Policy works.  It is your responsibility to know this information.

REGISTRATION DAY (Friday, August 9) COURSE ACCESS GUIDELINES - During the first day of player registration (Friday, August 9), players will have full and exclusive access to Hazeltine National Golf Club and Chaska Town Course and their Practice Facilities. Hazeltine and Chaska Town Course will be closed for play, however, players may walk the courses but they are not permitted to practice (no clubs or balls) on the golf courses while walking.

Player Registration Location:

Hazeltine National Golf Club

PRACTICE ROUNDS - Players will have the option of playing practice rounds on Hazeltine and Chaska Town Course on Saturday and Sunday, August 10 and 11. Players will be sent a link to schedule their practice rounds in August once Round 1 and 2 pairings are released. Practice rounds can also be assigned or verified at Player Registration on August 9 and 10. Players will only be allowed to practice at each course on certain days, based on their Stroke Play tee times.  For instance, if you are scheduled to play Hazeltine on Monday of Stroke Play, your practice round at Hazeltine will take place on Saturday.  If you are scheduled to play Chaska TC on Tuesday of Stroke Play, your practice round at Chaska TC will take place on Sunday.

YARDAGE BOOKS – The USGA will provide each player and their caddie with one professional yardage book for each golf course at no charge during Player Registration.

GREEN READING MATERIALS – Please be sure to take the time to review the infographic regarding green reading materials posted under the Rules Information tab.  Yardage books from other championships played at Hazeltine National GC or Chaska TC may not meet the size and scale limits for use so please be sure to check with the USGA on-site if you have any questions.

46”CLUB-LENGTH LIMITATION - Model Local Rule (MLR G-10) will be in effect at the championship that limits the maximum club-length (excluding your putter) that you may use to 46".

CHAMPIONSHIP TEE TIMES - Tee times for the stroke play rounds will be released no later than Thursday morning, August 8.  Players will be notified via text/email when published or can check www.usga.org for more detail.

ACCOMMODATIONS - If you need hotel accommodations or are interested in private housing, please visit the Accommodations section. For your convenience, the USGA has arranged a hotel room block at discounted rates for players and their families.

PLAYER CREDENTIAL/TICKET ALLOCATION -

Each player will receive a USGA Player Credential that will serve as your authorization for access to appropriate areas of the clubhouse at both golf courses.  Players will be able to request a maximum of four (4) Player Guest credentials which will provide their guests with access to player hospitality areas. In addition, beginning Monday, August 12, players may request up to four (4) additional grounds only tickets per day to share with their family and friends.

Please note: Caddies will receive their own credential with access to the grounds only.

FRIDAY NIGHT RECEPTION

Please join us at the Hazeltine National Golf Club on Friday, August 9 for a casual reception and activities. Attendance is not required, but is strongly encouraged. Credentialed player guests are welcome to attend.
